MEDIA RELEASE
9th February 2011
The Australian Christian Lobby today cautiously welcomed comments by NSW Opposition Leader, Barry O’Farrell that his party was unlikely to enter into a preference deal with the NSW Greens.
ACL’s NSW Director David Hutt said Mr O’Farrell’s comments to the National Press Club were encouraging. “The NSW system of optional preferential voting means there is no reason why the Coalition should give preferences to the Greens.”
Mr Hutt said recent events in Federal Parliament had thrown a spotlight on the extreme policies of the Greens.
“More and more we are seeing that the Greens’ agenda goes far beyond environmental protection. They support a range of social engineering policies that are clearly making a lot of people uncomfortable.
“I strongly suspect that Mr O’Farrell will be rewarded politically for any decision not to preference the Greens in the same way Victorian Premier, Ted Baillieu was rewarded on Election Day for a similar decision.”

I can only visualise the the gren party to that of a watermelon green on the outside and red on the inside all the way through.
What you see is not what you get low ethics and morals without a lighthouse of Jesus to keep our path relevant and real based on the love of our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Societies and cultures come and go only those based Jesus last.
Todays ethics is tomorows trash just look at wall street and non Christain countries.
So beware of the watermelon party take away the outside and it all goes to red water no substance.
your faithfully

Such a shame that the greens cop so much flack from groups like the ACL and other conservative christian groups, regardless of the fact they are so much closer to the mark on many social justice issues than either of the major parties. Sure, there are reasons not to vote for the greens, but scratch beneath the surface and i bet you’ll find just as many reasons not to vote for the major parties when considering a “WWJD” approach to voting.
