This is dreadful. How can this happen?
Hi Jill,
You are right, it is terrible. This all started 7 years ago when Canada legalized gay marriage (2005).
From the point of legalization, there has been consistent promotion of homosexuality across Canada in every facet of life, under the guise of ‘
diversity ‘ and ‘tolerance’.
In effect the results for the rest of the population and in particular Christians has been diabolical in terms of religious tolerance and liberties.
From kindergarten children begin learning about ‘diverse’ family structures. In early primary they learn about diverse sexualities and genders.
In high school it is mandatory for every public high school to install what they call a Gay- Straight alliance which is disguised as an anti bullying club but is actually an activist group which seeks to promote gay awareness and promote gay events within the schools (please see the GSA network website).
In every province of Canada they celebrate Pride week (some provinces have a 2 week program) and incorporates guest speakers into schools accordingly.
Transexuals, intersexed, homosexual activists….. you name it.
There are now 40 pride parades across Canada.
As you know from our experience, ‘homophobia’ has an ever changing definition and in Canada it has evolved even further.
Where once homophobia in Australia was applied to people who feared or showed contempt towards homosexuals, you will agree that this word is now commonly used wherever an opinion is expressed with which homosexuals and their advocates disagree.
Simply saying you believe the best environment for raising children is within a household of two married biological parents will see you now slurred with this tag.
In Canada, homophobia is now applied to people who will not openly support homosexuality. Please see the enclose article about the Mayor of Toronto and the criticism he copped for not wanting to march in Toronto’s Pride march.
Similarly, businesses, schools organizations are all expected to participate one way or another or they are questioned on ‘why not, are you ‘homophobic’?
Schools , regardless of their faiths must accommodate same sex partners to school formals and are hauled into tribunals and courts of they refuse for discrimination. Many religious schools have just stopped holding them.
Last Year a bill passed ( the Transgender Bill) that means that people must be allowed to be addressed by the gender they believe they are not necessarily that matching their biology. In effect, men can use female public toilets if they identify as female and vice versa.
There is a huge amount of material on all this but of course we do not get it through the mainstream media which heavily censors such.
Can I suggest you read Bill Muehlenbergs blog at:
http://www.billmuehlenberg.com for daily updates of ‘alternative’ news and also
http://www.lifesitenews.com which is an alternative news source from Canada and has been recording and documenting these events for some years now. They also do a daily update and cover this and other Christian issues across the globe.
I hope this helps you understand ‘how this happens’ and where we are heading if same sex marriage is legalised.
