This was recently posted on the ABC’s website:Editor's note (July 1, 2010): The original version of this story did not include the views of the Australian Christian Lobby, although they had been included in earlier stories. They have been added following an upheld complaint in relation to a lack of balance.
The ABC News Online story “Ministers delay decision on R-rated games”
originally included a number of perspectives from Home Affairs Minister Brendan O’Connor, the president of video game company Electronic Arts Frank Gibeau, and several Twitter users in favour of an R18+ classification for violent and sexually graphic computer games.
There was no comment sought from the Australian Christian Lobby even though ACL was criticised in the story.
As a result of a complaint lodged by a vigilant ACL Supporter, the story has now been edited to include the ACL’s position.
We see this as an important reminder for Christians to keep the media accountable, and it is great encouragement that one person can make such a difference.
