It’s been a busy week for the ACL in terms of media commentary. Below is a summary of where ACL has received coverage in the media since last Thursday (click on the links to go to the coverage).



  • Yesterday ACL National Chief of Staff Lyle Shelton was interviewed live on Channel Seven’s Sunrise program at 7. 10 am regarding Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s comments that she doesn’t believe in God. On Tuesday night Lyle was interviewed on Channel Ten News on the same topic and this morning he was interviewed by Madonna King on ABC Brisbane’s morning program.

  • The ACL’s Lyle Shelton was quoted in the following media regarding Julia Gillard’s comments about her beliefs: The Australian, yesterday’s The Age, Tuesday’s The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Adelaide Advertiser, The Canberra Times, Sunshine Coast Daily, ABC’s Radio Australia (Asian-Pacific Region), and the Daily Mail (UK). Lyle was also interviewed by Sonshine FM in WA about this issue and ACL Managing Director Jim Wallace was interviewed by the Canberra radio 2CC morning program on the same topic.

  • The Make it Count event organised by ACL has received further coverage in a column written by Sydney Archbishop Cardinal George Pell in the Sunday Telegraph and also an opinion piece posted yesterday on Eureka Street. It is also referred to in an opinion piece by World Vision CEO Tim Costello in today’s The Australian.

  • On Friday, ACL Managing Director Jim Wallace was interviewed by Sydney’s Radio 2UE News on the federal leadership change. ACL was also referred to in an article on this change in last Saturday’s Sydney Morning Herald,on the Sydney Anglicans News website  and in CathNews.

  • Lyle Shelton is quoted in today’s Canberra Times regarding ACL’s welcoming of Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s opposition to gay marriage.

  • On Tuesday Lyle Shelton was interviewed by ABC radio’s World Today program on the ACL’s opposition to a proposal to create a new domain name catering specifically for pornography on the internet.

  • On Friday, ACL NSW Director David Hutt was interviewed by Sydney’s Radio 2SM News about the ‘Save Our Scripture’ petition tabled in NSW Parliament.

  • ACL was referred to yesterday in an article on ISP filtering by Australian Reseller News.

  • The latest ‘Politics in Focus’ television segment on the Adventist Media Network and other outlets sees Jim Wallace interviewed about the change in Federal leadership and what it means for Christians. View ‘Politics in Focus’ on our website.

  • This week’s political spot (broadcast on Canberra’s 1Way FM and some other Christian stations) takes a look at the recent federal leadership change. What does it mean for the Christian constituency? Other topics under the spotlight include new moves to legalise euthanasia in Tasmania and the huge support for a petition aimed at protecting the place of Special Religious Education in NSW schools.

  • On Monday morning Lyle Shelton was interviewed by Tracy Weare for her Vision Radio Network  morning program.
