In the countdown to the NSW election, the Australian Christian Lobby (ACL) will next Tuesday hold a ‘Meet Your Candidate Forum’ in Richmond which is expected to draw crowds of Christian voters.

The event will take in the electorates of Hawkesbury, Riverstone and Londonderry - which include key election seats - and will see candidates from these electorates questioned on matters of concern to Christians.

The forum follows on from a range of similar events which have been held in different parts of NSW in the past fortnight, from Ballina in the North, to Dubbo in the West, and Goulburn in the South. In all, the forums are covering 11 electorates, with one of the events attracting more than 200 people.

“More than ever, Christians are interested in politics and want to know what their candidates stand for. The Meet Your Candidate Forums offer them a chance to find out the views of candidates in their electorate, ask questions, and make an informed vote at the election,” ACL managing director, Jim Wallace, said today.

“It also gives the candidates the opportunity to gain an appreciation of the importance of the Christian constituency and the significance of their vote.”
