Journalists and film makers in the United States have launched a campaign to raise funds for a TV film about convicted late-term abortion Doctor Kermit Gosnell.

Dr Gosnell was last year given life in prison after being found guilty of murdering three babies who survived abortion attempts. He was convicted of three counts of first-degree murder, as well as over 200 violations of Pennsylvania's abortion laws, including the performance of late-term abortions.

If the campaign raises enough funds, the film will expose the brutality of his actions and the considerable suffering of thousands of helpless babies.

In May 2013, ACL called for investigations into babies being left to die after being born alive following failed abortion attempts in Australia. This was in response to Dr Gosnell's conviction in the US which shocked people worldwide.
