800 million people are living in extreme poverty

Since 1990, more than 1 billion people have been lifted out of extreme poverty.  In 1990, nearly half of the population in the developing regions lived on less than $1.25 a day.

Remarkable progress has been made but there is still more work to be done to lift the remaining 800 million people worldwide out of extreme poverty.
