If you would like any further information on these options please contact ACL’s National Development Manager, Ian Pavletich, to discuss possible opportunities to partner in these areas. How are we going so far?
The items below are a guide as to what ACL would like to do in the lead up to the next federal election and the estimated costs of each activity.
Make It Count 2010
ACL is always working hard to influence politics. But we increase our efforts at election times for obvious strategic reasons.
With a Federal election due next year, we are already planning our campaign to effect policy and further elevate the importance of the Christian constituency.
In 2007,
- The Howard-Rudd Make It Count (MIC) webcast to 100,000 Christians was hailed by the media as a ground-breaking innovation in Australian politics.
- - Our AustraliaVotes.org website with party responses to questions of key concern to Christians has been effective in holding both sides of politics accountable for promises on marriage and poverty and justice issues.
- - We held Meet Your Candidate Forums in over 50 marginal electorates and conducted a massive printing and mail campaign to churches with important policy information to simply and easily inform the Christian voter.
In 2007 we spent more than $150,000 to achieve all of this. Never before had such a broad Christian constituency played such a prominent role in a Federal election.
In 2010 we want to do all this again and more. We have already begun discussions with the Prime Minister and Opposition Leaders’ offices for 2010 Make It Count.
Please consider helping us achieve - click here to donate to our 2010 election Fighting Fund.
God Bless
