Lack of integrity in public office holders a legitimate public concern
Lack of integrity and loyalty in public office holders is very much a legitimate matter for public concern, the Australian Christian Lobby (ACL) said today.
“The case of NSW Transport Minister David Campbell’s apparent cheating on his wife and family by visiting a gay sex club is not something to be swept under the carpet,” ACL Managing Director Jim Wallace said.
“Public office holders – but particularly those calling for popular support through elections - must uphold a higher standard of honesty and integrity.”
Mr Wallace said it is also disappointing to see the gay activists’ cries of “homophobia” over this issue simply because a gay sex bar is mentioned.
“This denigration of any or anybody’s mention of the seedier side of the gay life style as homophobic must be challenged” said Mr Wallace. “If it’s a gay bar it’s a gay bar and that fact should not be disguised by the usual politically correct mantra,” he said.
