South Australian parents would welcome a promise by SA Liberals to scrap the State Government-sponsored Safe Schools program in favour of a more comprehensive and holistic anti-bullying program.

“What South Australian parents seek ahead of the March election are assurances that any form of bullying is adequately dealt with particularly in light of the growing evidence of cyber-bullying,” Australian Christian Lobby SA director Christopher Brohier said.

“However, the controversial Safe Schools program was never about tackling bullying, containing age-inappropriate sexual concepts and radical LGBTIQ gender fluid theory.

“It was disappointing to parents that the SA Government continued to fund Safe Schools through Shine SA, ignoring parental concerns in favour of advocating for LGBT rainbow ideology in the classroom without parents’ consent.

“Unlike what is proposed by the Liberal Party, the Safe Schools Shine SA program is not scientifically or evidence based but is an ideological implementation of unscientific gender theory.

“The onus is on the Liberal, Labor and SA Best parties to revoke the policy and procedure documents introduced in the last two years that have mandated gender theory in state schools.”
