Two new bills are about to be debated that will further liberalise abortion in NSW, so I need your help.
The first one - Abortion Law Reform (Miscellaneous Acts Amendment) Bill 2016 would permit abortion till birth, remove the conscience rights of doctors, and prevent prayer vigils and sidewalk counselling near abortion clinics.
The second, Summary Offences Amendment (Safe Access to Reproductive Health Clinics) Bill 2017 looks to also prevent prayer vigils and sidewalk counselling within 150meters of abortion clinics, and proposes a maximum penalty of $16,500 or 12 months of imprisonment for those who would break it.
Both Bills are currently before the Legislative Council and may be debated in May.
These bills are every bit as bad as Victoria’s abortion laws which you and I know are the worst in Australia.
I am asking you to join me in mobilising opposition to these Bills by circulating a paper petition around those you know.
This petition calls on the Legislative Council to unanimously oppose both bills.
Our initial target is 10,000 signatures. We will reach this goal if we all join together to gather signatures from our church, family, friends, and neighbours. It is time to voice your value!
- The petition pages must not be photocopied back to back. Signatures must be collected on single sided pages only.
- Only original petitions, not copies, can be tabled in the Legislative Council. Please post your petitions to me at the address below, do not send by email or facsimile.
- Individuals collecting signatures can keep a copy for themselves, but the originals must be mailed to me.
- Signatures may be collected on either of the pages attached. As a matter of convenience, most signatures will be collected on the second page because of the number of spaces provided.
Completed petitions should be forwarded to:
Mr Mark Makowiecki
Australian Christian Lobby
Level 12, 95 Pitt St
I will collate the various pages and forward them for tabling in the Legislative Council.
I look forward to working with you. Together, we can turn the tide on abortion.
