Tim Costello writes in today’s The Australian about the downfall of a Christian leader, who despite his faults, led with great compassion. Costello reminds us that former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd drove a $1 billion increase in Australia’s overseas aid – an initiative that now has bi-partisan support under Tony Abbott. According to Costello, Rudd’s compassion towards assylum seekers was also on display at last week’s ACL Make it Count leaders’ forum which was webcast live from Old Parliament House.
