ACL Spokesperson for Women and Children, Wendy Francis, discusses the upcoming Australian Summit Against Sexual Exploitation, which will address cleaning up outdoor advertising among other issues.

She also discusses the Northern Territory passing legislation last week allowing the abortion drug, RU486.

“We have aboriginal communities saying, it’s not part of our culture, we don’t even have a word for abortion. They also are very concerned because aboriginal girls often don’t follow up with the clinic, they are in remote areas. In the case of this drug, not following up could actually be fatal.”
