With just a week-and-a-half to voting day, our team is pleased to provide you with information we hope will help you cast an informed vote.

The federal election page on our website is now populated with resources everyone should peruse.

The major parties and a number of minor parties have now responded to our 26 questions. As other parties provide their answers, we will post them.

You will notice that our 26 questions are quite pointed. This is deliberate because we are looking for specific answers from the parties.

Nailing politicians down is one of the hardest things in modern democracy. I hope you will take the time to look at the parties’ responses and use them to inform your vote in the House of Representatives and in the Senate.

The other key resource is our special printable election guide. ACL never tells people who to vote for but we make no apology for highlighting policies we know will be of concern.

In particular, Labor’s adoption of “rainbow” ideology into its national platform is something all Australians should be aware of before they vote.

I’m not convinced parents have signed on to having their kids taught that their gender is fluid. “Safe Schools” and same-sex marriage are a package deal and Labor has promised both.

The Coalition have promised a people’s vote on marriage and to defund the dangerous “Safe Schools” program.

Please read the material. You might want to print the election guide and, with your pastor or priest’s permission, hand it out at church this Sunday. Please share this election material on social media.

Above all, thanks for praying for the election and for the work of ACL. Thanks also to all of you who have given so generously to our end of financial year appeal and towards our election activities. Your support keeps our team on the front line.

Finally, on Thursday I will be participating in the CEO Sleepout to raise money for the homeless. I know so many of you have given to ACL in recent weeks, but if you wanted to support my fundraising efforts for the homeless, you can make a donation here. The forecast is for one degree Celsius!
