A tribute to influential Australian Christians - Moy Ling. Number 166 in our series.
Lee Moy Ling was highly regarded by the leaders of the Methodist Church and held in great respect by his countrymen. He was quietly active in the various difficulties of the Chinese community in relation to immigration and employment issues, especially the attempts to totally exclude Chinese from laundry and furniture manufacturing between 1896 and 1905.

A tribute to influential Australian Christians - Harold Woodruff. Number 165 in our series.
Apart from his influence on the careers of several famous scientists, Harold Woodruff's most notable success was to establish the Public Health Laboratories within the bounds of the Melbourne University. Woodruff was also involved in many aspects of the Methodist Church work. He held a weekly prayer-meeting for students and in 1931 acquired land to build a Student Christian Movement camp. Ministry finds fault with Yale Christian-Muslim declaration
Barnabas Fund’s international director, Dr. Peter Sookhdeo, a former Muslim, says the inclusion of the Qur’anic commandment to speak to Christian and Jews (Q 3:64) in the opening passage of the “Final Declaration of the Yale Common Word Conference, July 2008” actually calls for the conversion of Christians and Jews to Islam. Aid groups begin relief efforts in conflict-ridden Georgia
World Vision has begun providing emergency assistance to civilians displaced by the conflict in Georgia. The Christian humanitarian agency started distributing food, soap, blankets and other essentials to those, mainly women and children, who managed to flee to Georgia's capital, Tblisi.
