Abortion

One of the greatest human rights violations of our time

Every year, 88,000 innocent babies in Australia are lost to abortion. It’s a chilling reality that demands our attention. As Proverbs 31:8-9 urges us, we must speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves and help those in trouble. Unborn babies are among the most vulnerable in our society, and it’s our duty to be their voice.

The decision to end a pregnancy is a devastating one, impacting both the mother and the unborn child. Yet, in a world where convenience often triumphs over the sanctity of human life, we must resist this culture of death. We have a responsibility to stand against it, to defend the intrinsic value and dignity of every human being, regardless of age or circumstance. It’s time to speak out and fight for a society that cherishes and protects life.

This page empowers you to take action and stand up for life.

WESTERN AUSTRALIA BILL PASSED

The WA Government has passed the Abortion Legislation Reform Bill 2023 on Sept 20th, 2023, without accepting any of the much needed amendments.

This legislation loosens the very few restrictions on abortion.  Abortion on demand is now available to 23 weeks, up from 20 weeks, and no longer requires a second doctor to approve the abortion.  Women can now go directly to the abortion clinic.   The compulsory counselling has been dropped, and doctors are not even required now to provide information as to where counselling could be accessed.

FEDERAL BABIES BORN ALIVE Campaign

The Born Alive campaign supports the Human Rights (Children Born Alive Protection) Bill 2022, that aims to address the distressing reality of babies surviving failed abortions in Australia and being left to die without medical assistance or pain relief.

This bill emphasises that a child born alive, regardless of the circumstances of their birth, deserves equal care and protection as any other child born at the same stage of development and clinical condition, aligning with natural understanding and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

BABY BOOTIES CAMPAIGN

The tragic reality of babies born alive in failed abortions, being denied essential medical care and compassion, was the focus of a visual protest organised by ACL.

By setting up over 800 pairs of baby booties on the lawn of Parliament House, this protest aimed to demand change and raise awareness for the need to provide proper care and support for their precious lives.
