ACL welcomes release of Ruddock Review recommendations

The Australian Christian Lobby has welcomed the release of the Ruddock Review recommendations and now looks forward to the Morrison Government’s response.

“The Government has all the information and evidence they need to act decisively on religious freedom,” said Martyn Iles, ACL’s managing director.

“Over the last two years, ACL’s legal clinic has assisted dozens of everyday Australians with religious freedom cases, some of which can be found in our submission to the Ruddock Review.”

“In light of Kathy Clubb’s recent freedom of speech case in the High Court, it is increasingly apparent that the Government must act on growing concerns and cases regarding both freedom of religion and speech in Australia.”

“Religious freedom reforms must guarantee freedom of speech, freedoms for charities, organisations, businesses, and parents to ensure they can continue to practice their faith without discrimination or marginalisation,” commented Mr Iles.
