February's Liberal leadership challenge came and went resulting in a stronger position for the Prime Minister and a more positive outlook for his term in office.

However, lets not forget the stifling atmosphere the media created at the time fanning a disrespect for our leaders and a thirst for controversy.

On the morning of the challenge, the parliamentary year started with a church service at Canberra Baptist Church, led by Rev Dr Kelvin Alley, the Salvation Army's national representative to Federal Government.

Kelvin preached at the opening of parliament to the Prime Minister and Opposition Leader on 1 Samuel 30:6, "...But David found strength in the Lord".
