Asia Bibi has remained on death row for over seven years under Pakistan’s Blasphemy Laws. What was the crime you may ask, helping out a muslim neighbour.
On the eve of a Pakistani Supreme Court hearing last week, the chair of the British Pakistani Christian Association, Wilson Chowdhry visited Australia.
Australian Christian Lobby Managing Director Lyle Shelton met with Mr Chowdhry to offer support and to join in calls for the Australian Government to put diplomatic pressure on Pakistan to abolish its Blasphemy Laws which targets Christians in that country.
Mr Chowdhry was also interviewed by Chris Kenny on Sky News.
