Worldview Australia Camp shines!

Last week seventy high school students attended the first ever WorldView Australia Camp on the outskirts of Perth, Western Australia.

It was focused on assisting students develop a Christian worldview before they finish high school.

Over 6 days, students were presented with 25 hours of lively lectures and participated in discussions in their respective age groups (Yr 9-12), led by university–aged small group leaders. A wide range of subjects was covered – from Truth Foundations, Gender Ideology, Life Issues, Servant Leadership, Comparative World Views, the Reliability of Scripture, How to Study the Bible and more.

The goal was to provide students with the knowledge, insights, tools and networks to stand firm on the truths of God’s Word in a world that is increasingly hostile to all things Christian. It also equipped them to clearly articulate and defend the Christian worldview.

Our WA State Director Peter Abetz served on the organising committee and presented 4 of the lectures.

The camp was made possible by the cooperative efforts of ACL, Scripture Union WA, Creation Ministries, OAC Ministries, World View Academy (USA), and Sonlife Ministries.

The feedback from students has been most encouraging. Many describing it as life changing, as they now have the skills and confidence to boldly stand for Jesus in their communities. A number of the Year 12s expressed keen interest in doing the week long GPS in Canberra before they head to university.

Next year’s WorldView Camp is scheduled for Jan 15-21, 2022.
