South Australia Delivers the Good News!

‘…some seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, multiplying thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times. Then Jesus said, “He who has ears to hear, let Him hear.” – Mark 4:8,9

The Gospel of John is going out far and wide, through our volunteer army! This past weekend was SA’s turn. South Australia’s delivery date coincided with New South Wales. A special day where the States that border each other could be spreading the gospel in the communities at the same time.  The delivery area spanned thousands of kilometres, which is very special when you consider that imagery. It was wonderfully exciting to have pick up points and delivery areas across all SA – including Kangaroo Island, up to the Barossa Valley and Laura, across to the Yorke Peninsula and down to Mt Gambier.

It’s been so beautiful to see so many families delivering gospels together. What a wonderful witness to the children; that sharing the gospel is part of our life as Christian and speaking to others about the gift of salvation is a privilege. I’m praying that many of the children who have held a gospel in their hands and who have popped them into a letterbox or passed them over at the door grow up to be mighty warriors for Christ who live each day with the awareness that they are representatives for Jesus here on earth!

The fruit of this campaign may be seen in the coming weeks, months or years, but maybe not even in this lifetime. This campaign is not for our glory, but for His and it is our prayer that God uses this gospel delivery to bring His children to Him. Together we can pray the words of the song,

Build Your kingdom here,
Let the darkness fear.
Show Your mighty hand,
Heal our streets and land.
Set Your church on fire,
Win this nation back.
Change the atmosphere,
Build Your kingdom here,
We pray
!

Over the weekend, over 100 volunteers were involved with delivery across SA and thousands of gospels were placed in letterboxes or delivered at the door. There are almost 105,000 gospels in SA and many of these have already been given to people at the door or in their letterbox. It’s been so encouraging to see so many new volunteers sign up the weekend and be so excited about sharing gospels in their neighbourhoods. There certainly is no greater gift we could give our community!

Since September 24 when the Gospel of John campaign we’ve all been so encouraged by God’s faithfulness and His steadfast leading of us all – ACL staff and many ACL supporters have committed this project to prayer for the last few months and it’s been so evident that God has had His Hand on this project, as He has led us all, provided for us with weather, safety, positive interactions with the public and also equipped us with courage, the right words to say at the right time and given us peace in our hearts as we honour Him through our activity.

I would like to sincerely thank all the volunteers across Tasmania who are involved with this campaign. I’m so encouraged by your commitment, zeal and desire to spread God’s Word. What a blessing it is to be united as brothers and sisters in Christ as we spread the goodness of God’s grace and truth to our neighbours. It’s been such a privilege to witness God working mightily through you all! May you be richly blessed as you use your time and talents to serve our Father in Heaven.

My sincere thank you to all of our volunteers who have so faithfully committed their time and energy to this Gospel of John campaign. Thank you for delivering the gospels and partnering with us, thank you to those of you who have driven 2, 5, or even 10 hours to collect your gospels because, as you’ve said, ‘My town needs the gospel and I’ll do whatever it takes to get it here!’ Thank you to you all. May God bless you and your servant hearts!

Also, an extra big thank you to our LCOs (volunteer leaders) across SA who have worked and are working tirelessly to ensure this campaign runs smoothly. Thank you for your faithfulness and dedication to serving God through your roles at ACL.

It is my prayer that God continues to bless the Gospel of John project over the next few months. Please join me in prayer! Pray for all the volunteers, for God’s favour and provision for the logistics of the campaign, the team leaders, that any attacks of the devil may be thwarted and pray for those who receive a gospel, that they do read it, so that Jesus can transform hearts to be shaped like His. Please also pray that God uses our efforts powerfully, and for His purposes.

We look forward to hearing the testimonies of your experiences in the coming weeks. It’s always wonderful to hear of how God has answered prayer through you. If you are a volunteer with us, please send us your photos and share with us your experience. We’d love to hear from you!

There is still time to join the Gospel of John campaign if you haven’t already. Sign up at www.acl.org.au/volunteer and you’ll be able to join a local team. To God be the glory!

What a mighty God we serve!! It reminds me once again if God’s greatness and might and our insignificance in comparison.  What a privilege it is to be counted as ‘blessed for we have seen and not heard’ and to be used as a tool in His Kingdom work. As we each do our small part and do ‘the next thing’ God places before us, we live in His Will. God calls us all to serve Him faithfully and by stepping out in faith and heeding His call, we will be strengthened in faith. So, be faithful in all things and, as Martyn recently said in one of his Truth of It messages, ‘just do something’. Thank you to all of those volunteers for ‘doing something’ and working along side us to spread God’s grace and truth. We salute you!

We can be still in the peace of knowing that we’ve done our part and the rest is for God. In doing so we can sing with the angels,

Praise God from whom all blessings flow,
Praise Him all creatures here below,
Praise Him above ye heavenly host,
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost!

To God be the Glory, now and forever.

‘As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.’ Isaiah 55:10,11
