Lachlan Macquarie Internship

The ACL vision is to see Christian principles accepted and influencing the way we are governed, do business and relate as a community. An important aspect to this is giving our next generation of leaders looking to affect public policy as much support as we can before they enter public life. We are therefore pleased to announce the start of the Lachlan Macquarie Internship Program.

Based on our work with high-performing university aged Christians around Australia, it is becoming clear that a more community focused, academically intense and longer internship program will be required to help these future leaders develop solid foundations. We intend to provide these students with intensive curriculum surrounding history, theology, law, politics and Australian culture, while also giving them exposure to the three broad areas of Christian engagement in the public sphere – at the policy formation and public influence level (lobbying), at the policy effect level (social welfare and humanitarian organisations) and at the policy decision level (politics).
