Martyn Iles, Managing Director of the Australian Christian Lobby and Rachel Carling, CEO of NSW Right to Life will bring their recent experience in fighting NSW abortion laws to South Australia tomorrow.
They will both address Adelaide’s first “Walk for Life” on the steps of the South Australian Parliament tomorrow (Saturday 8 February 2020).
ACL’s SA director, Christopher Brohier said today, “Schools across the state recently came to life with the lively chatter and animated voices of our children returning to school. The joy and openness of children are contagious. To cut these lives short is a grievous loss. Yet every abortion stops a beating heart.”
“The government’s proposal to bring an abortion bill to parliament, based on a recent Law Reform Institute report and a draft bill by the Greens Tammy Franks MLC, is expected to introduce abortion to birth for any reason,” Mr Brohier warned, “This is ironic when we devote enormous resources to saving premature babies and as we become increasingly aware of the trauma of stillbirths.”
“There is no justification, legal or philosophical for SA to introduce abortion up to birth legislation. It is harmful to women and destructive of the lives of innocent children.” Mr Brohier concluded.
Adelaide’s Walk for Life will take place on Saturday 8th February commencing at 9:30am at Pennington Gardens and then proceed to Parliament House.
Speakers include:
- Martyn Iles, Managing Director, Australian Christian Lobby,
- Bishop Silouan of Sinope Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of SA and NT,
- Bishop Greg O’Kelly of the Port Pirie Catholic Diocese and Apostolic Administrator for the Adelaide Archdiocese, and
- Dr Rachel Carling, CEO, NSW Right to Life.
