Premier’s leadership failure on putting Greens, assisted suicide campaigners in their place

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk failed a leadership test today when the media asked her about yesterday’s dreadful Health Committee report recommending assisted suicide, the Australian Christian Lobby says.

“The Premier missed an important moment to tell the ghoulish Greens and elements in her own party that now is not the time push assisted suicide,” ACL Qld director Wendy Francis said, “At this morning’s press conference, the Premier told the media she had not read the Health Committee’s report and her government would not comment.

The government gets plenty of notice of a report before it is tabled, whilst yesterday the Greens were out calling for ‘speedy implementation’ and Labor MP Aaron Harper was calling for assisted suicide laws to be introduced before the October election.”

“During the COVID-19 pandemic and with parliament temporarily shut down, the Premier has to show leadership and stare down the ghoulish Greens and others pushing assisted dying when we are fighting to save our elderly and vulnerable Queenslanders.” Mrs Francis said.
