ALRC Interests Signups

The challenge:

The future of Christian schools continues to be at risk following the Australian Law Reform Commission’s (ALRC) inquiry into Religious Educational Institutions.

The ALRC is proposing to strip religious schools of the right to hire staff who share their religious ethos and who model their beliefs in gender and sexuality.

If the ALRC recommendations are enacted, Christian schools will be compelled to permit the promotion of ideology which contradicts Christian beliefs on marriage, sexuality and identity.

Furthermore, schools won’t be able to maintain a distinctive Christian culture through their staff, to the point that many may no longer be able to fulfil their core mission.
