Since the long-awaited Religious Discrimination Bill has been released, there’s been a backlash of opposition.
But ordinary people of faith need religious protections in law – and these can be delivered without affecting the rights of other Australians.
Religious protections have been promised since 2019 but still none exist. And 29% of Australians have faced discrimination because of their religious views…
- Like Hannah – who was banned from a café for reading her Bible;
- Like Ian – a teacher who’s job was threatened for expressing his religious beliefs on social media;
- Like Jereth – a doctor who was suspended by the Medical Board and has been unable to practice for two years because of his social media posts.
Christian schools and organisations should be able to employ staff who share their values in the same way that political parties can.
Medical professionals should be allowed to refuse to perform procedures like abortion or euthanasia if it conflicts with their conscience or beliefs.
Employees should be able to make reasonable statements of belief without fear of losing their job.
Sign this petition today to call on the Prime Minister and the Attorney-General to secure religious protections in law before the Federal Election!
