QLD Health Committee review’s Jackie Trad’s radical abortion bill

Australian Christian Lobby state director Wendy Francis has today appeared before the Health Committee regarding the Termination of Pregnancy Bill 2018.

In her comments to the committee Wendy Francis stated; “This bill provides no protection from coercion, with Queensland government funded Pregnancy Counselling Link stating that 7 out of 10 men involved in unwanted pregnancies try and influence or pressure their partner into having an abortion.”

“The bill will allow for abortion on demand until 22 weeks without any need for consultation as well as sex selective abortions.”

“There is a shocking rise in femicide in Australia, with a recent La Trobe University report showing rates in some communities of 122 to 125 boys to every 100 girls in Victoria. Yet this bill will allow this systematic discrimination of females to continue legally.”

“There is also currently an e-petition in the Queensland parliament opposing the bill with over 20,000 signatures. This is by far the largest petition to be received by this parliament,” said Mrs Francis.

The Australian Christian Lobby urges the Committee to listen to the community who have overwhelmingly shown they are against Jackie Trad’s radical abortion bill.
