A recent YouGov Galaxy poll reveals members of parliament who vote in favour of Jackie Trad’s radical abortion bill could lose 39% of their vote at the next election.
“The poll shows a majority of Queenslanders believe an abortion involves the taking of a human life,” said Wendy Francis, the Australian Christian Lobby’s state director.
“It also shows that 62% believe an unborn baby at 23 weeks is a human being with human rights. This belief coincides with recent international research which revealed that by 20 weeks – if not earlier an unborn child is capable of experiencing pain."
“MPs would do well to be aware of the beliefs their voters hold and take them into consideration when voting on Jackie Trad’s radical abortion crusade,” commented Mrs Francis.
The Australian Christian Lobby will continue to lobby members to vote against the bill which will essentially allow unborn children to be aborted to full term.
