NT Government urged to revise discriminatory bill

A clear message was delivered today to the NT government by the large gathering of around 300 concerned Territorians who rallied outside the NT Parliament in opposition to their proposed bill which, according to NT Bishop Gauci, would spell the end to faith-based schools and organisations in the Territory.

Darwin’s Catholic Bishop considers closing Catholic schools

The Australian Christian Lobby (ACL) has commended Catholic Bishop, Charles Gauci, for standing up for parent’s rights to choose their children’s education in the Territory. Speaking on Mix 1049, Bishop Gauci called on the NT government to shelve their proposal to remove the right of Religious Educational Institutions to employ staff who share their faith.

ACL advertisement elicits welcome commitment from Greens

Tasmanian Greens Leader, Cassy O'Connor MP, responded publicly today to the Australian Christian Lobby's (ACL) advertisement in the Tasmanian Mercury newspaper (copy attached). The advertisement in question details significant opposition to aspects of the Tasmanian Law Reform Commission’s (TLRI) proposed laws that would criminalise parents for counselling their children not to pursue a transgender pathway.
