An inquiry into the Adoption Act 1988 and Adoption Regulations 2004 is underway. ACL has provided a submission to the committee, arguing that eligibility for those seeking adoption should not be extended to alternate family structures beyond heterosexual couples.
The United Nations is currently conducting a Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of 42 countries, Australia being one.
Together with Family Voice Australia and the Wilberforce Foundation, ACL has made a joint NGO submission to the UPR.

The Australian Christian Lobby welcomes this opportunity to comment on the Regulator of Medicinal Cannabis Bill 2014.
ACL supports scientific trials of cannabis for medicinal purposes. If cannabis has a genuine palliative effect that other drugs cannot provide, it should be available to patients in the same way other medications are.
However, ACL is concerned by the bill’s intention to regulate the cultivation, production, and distribution of cannabis.
