The Australian Christian Lobby has expressed its disappointment that the Tasmanian parliament has caved in to the Green ideological agenda on same-sex marriage.
“It is particularly sad that so many Liberal MPs have, in a relatively short space of time, been swayed to change their views on the timeless institution of marriage. One can only ponder why” said ACL ‘s Tasmanian Director, Mark Brown.
Many cited moving public opinion as part of the justification for their change of view on marriage.
“This is confusing given that the most recent polling1 in the electorates of Bass and Lyons showed no majority support for same-sex marriage.”
“Braddon, which is conventionally the most conservative of Tasmania’s five electorates, saw an astonishing four out of five Liberal MP’s support the motion for redefining marriage”.
The aggressive and relentless campaigning of the Greens and parts of the gay lobby must surely be a factor in this swing.
“The constant intimidation through name-calling and vitriol directed at those who oppose their agenda is never helpful in such an important debate.”
