The Palaszczuk Government Refuses to Protect Women’s Sport

The Palaszczuk Government, with the support of The Greens, has rejected a motion by KAP Party leader, Robbie Katter, to protect the integrity of women’s sport in Queensland.

Mr. Katter’s motion, which was supported by the LNP Opposition, sought to ban transgender women from competing in women’s sports.

ACL’s Queensland State Political Director, Rob Norman, said,

“Women’s sports are in very real danger of being dominated by transgender athletes. In sports where muscle strength and physical size are essential, biological males have an enormous competitive advantage.

“What Sports Minister Stirling Hinchliffe called, an extreme right-winged bill’ was merely a recognition of the scientific fact that biological males are physically stronger than biological females.

“Gender ideologues have once again demonstrated their disdain for the rights and protections of women and girls.”

The Australian Christian Lobby calls upon the Palaszczuk Government to support protections for women and girls in sport by working constructively with the Opposition and Cross-bench on this important issue.
