You will be aware that our Coptic Christian brothers and sisters are suffering increased persecution in Egypt. Up to 29 young people were killed recently as the military and police forces, whose role is to protect civilians, responded to a peaceful gathering by Christians protesting the burning of their churches.

Coptic groups around Australia are holding a “Vigil 4 Peace” in most capital cities around Australia and you are invited to join in and show Christian solidarity.

The Melbourne vigil is at Fedreation Square, Friday 4th November from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm. For more information about the Melbourne vigil see here.

The Sydney vigil is at St Mary and St Mina Cathedral Bexley, Friday 4th November from 8 to 10pm. For more information see The Australian Coptic Movement.
