Around 3,000 pro-life South Australians, mostly young people, attended the ‘Walk for Life’ in Adelaide last weekend where a significant pro-life initiative was launched.

Australian Christian Lobby's Managing Director, Martyn Iles, set the tone for the event telling the crowd not to grow weary in doing good. Harking back to Winston Churchill, Martyn encouraged the crowd with, “Never, never, never give up!”

ACL’s South Australian Director, Christopher Brohier, said,

“Spurred on by their disgust at the passing of abortion to birth legislation last year, young people came out in their thousands, signalling an escalation in the pro-life movement in Australia. It is a significant issue for them, and there is no doubt that they will make their voices heard at the upcoming SA State Election.”

Jodie Pickard, founder of Love Adelaide who organised the event, urged the crowd not to vote for parties, but rather to vote for individual candidates who are pro-life.

Launched at the event was a national movement, ‘Enid Lyons List’. Mother of 12, Enid Lyons was the first woman MP in Australia and was pro-life to the core. ‘Enid Lyons List’ will help pro-life women be elected into the parliaments across Australia.

Christopher Brohier believes it is fitting for the launch to have occurred in South Australia, noting, “SA was the first state to introduce destructive and lax abortion laws. It is right that it is here we launch ‘Enid Lyons List’, which will, in time, see the roll-back of SA’s brutal abortion laws.”
