NSW MP, Alex Greenwich, has included a raft of obscene amendments in his Equality Amendment (LGBTIQA+) Bill 2023.
NSW State Director of the Australian Christian Lobby (ACL), Joshua Rowe, said, “Greenwich’s proposed amendments would allow the open performance of acts of prostitution including masturbation and public acts of sex within view of schools, churches, hospitals. In particular, Greenwich wants the NSW government to allow individuals to –
- exercise coercive control and undue influence to cause a person to commit prostitution and to hand over proceeds of prostitution,
- solicit others for prostitution in, near or within view of a school, house, hospital including in ways that harass or distress the other person,
- take part in acts of prostitution (sexual intercourse or masturbation) in or within view of a home, school, hospital or church.”
Mr. Rowe concluded, “this is a disgraceful piece of legislation, unworthy of the NSW Parliament’s consideration.”
ACL calls on all responsible NSW Members of Parliament to condemn this Bill.
