Will we soon have sexless children in WA?

A recommendation from the WA Law Reform Commission to remove children’s biological sex from birth certificates has been criticised by the Australian Christian Lobby.

“The recommendation raises significant concerns regarding the medical implications of removing important biological information from a legal document,” commented Peter Abetz, ACL’s state director.

“The sex a child is born with is a scientific and immutable fact. Sex is not a feeling but rather, is dependent on if a child is born with ‘XX’ or ‘XY’ chromosomes.”

“Birth certificates are used to establish historical medical facts. When biological sex is removed it greatly diminishes the significance and usefulness of birth certificates.”

Mr Abetz said, “this latest call to no longer show a person’s sex on their birth certificate is part of the broader push to impose gender ideology on our society.”
