Aunty is Cranky!

But so are Australian parents.

The ABC continues to alienate themselves from everyday Australian parents with their latest ‘dummy spit’ over pushback on their callout for 3-5 year olds to be part of their Drag Queen Story Time filming.

Wendy Francis is a parent and grandparent and also the National Director of Politics for the Australian Christian Lobby (ACL). She stands firmly with the concerned parents who contacted the ABC, upset that they targeted toddlers for an audience to a performance that many Australians still regard as adult entertainment.

Francis said, “It is not hateful to voice concern over 3-5 year old children being used in a video for the ABC’s 2024 Mardi Gras broadcast.

“It’s adults adulting, being responsible for children, protecting their innocence as best as they know how.

“Contrary to media reporting, it is not a ‘far-right’ opinion that drag queens are not suitable entertainment for 3-5 year old children. The ABC need to get out more and mix with mums and dads who find their callout appalling.”

Rather than the angry response the ABC issued in their media release, the ACL calls on the ABC to apologise to Australian parents for their serious lack in judgment.
