Mainstream media acknowledges gender transitioning treatments are harming our children

The recent 7News Spotlight documentary on de-transitioning sparked debate and awakened many in the community to the devastation being caused by gender ideologues.

Commenting on the documentary’s effect, Victorian Director of the Australian Christian Lobby (ACL), Jasmine Yuen said, “The documentary finally acknowledged that the affirmative approach used by most gender clinics in Australia is, in fact, causing irreversible harms to children.

“Victorian MP, David Limbrick MLC, who featured in the documentary, and Bev McArthur MLC, who co-sponsored the “Child Safeguarding and Consent Forum” at the Victorian Parliament are to congratulated for bringing “detransitioners” Jay Langadinos and Mel Jeffries, along with Queensland Children’s Hospital child psychiatrist Jillian Spencer, child and adolescent psychiatrist Peter Parry, paediatrician Dylan Wilson, plastic surgeon Ramin Shayan, Queensland Law School emeritus Professor Patrick Parkinson and senior legal counsel Mark Sneddon to the Victorian parliament where they all called for an urgent inquiry into Victoria’s conversion therapy laws which currently deny gender confused children any option apart from affirmation.

“In view of the opinions from these medical and legal professionals, the testimonies of victims of gender transitioning, the Spotlight documentary and the ban on gender transitioning which is occurring in countries such as the UK, Denmark, Finland and Sweden, there is no valid reason for the Victorian government to oppose an independent inquiry into the affirmation-only approach in gender clinics.”

The ACL calls on all Victorian MPs to support an urgent inquiry into the lifelong medicalisation of children that is occurring through mandatory affirmation therapy.
