The Australian Christian Lobby has warned that the Queensland government has this week opened the way for more harm to women through prostitution.

Plans to bring prostitution only a click-away in South Australia using Uber-type technology, should those advocating to decriminalise prostitution get their way, will horrify mothers and wives, warns the Australian Christian Lobby.

Some of you may have seen the article in today’s Advertiser which says that the SA Labor Leader of the Opposition has come out against the Attorney General’s prostitution decriminalisation Bill.

Greens MLC Tammy Franks should be upfront about the impact of South Australia’s proposed new prostitution laws, according to the Australian Christian Lobby.

The news on Saturday 24 August that the SA Police Commissioner, Grant Stevens considers that the Prostitution Decriminalisation Bill (which decriminalises pimping and protects pimps) would place community safety at risk and allow organised crime to flourish, and the news that organised crime syndicates are operating in the SA prostitution industry, means that that House of Assembly should reject the Bill.  As the editorial in the Advertiser last Saturday stated, lower house MPs should listen to the Commissioner.

On the eve of the Attorney General Vicki Chapman’s second reading speech of the Bill which will decriminalise and protect pimping and brothel keeping in South Australia, a group of mainly young South Australian women expressed their opposition to the Bill by protesting outside the Attorney General’s electoral office on Greenhill Road.
